Honokowai Maui Hawaii

Honokawai is tucked into west  Maui. It is often lumped together with two other neighborhoods in the area and sometimes just thought of as the larger Napili-Honokawai or just the Napili area of Maui. You may also hear it considered as Kahana, but it is its own distinct pocket of west Maui lending great neighborhoods, shopping, and a coastal park to the greater Napili area.

Honokowai Park

This is perhaps the most identifying landmark of the Honokowai area. Honokawai Beach Park is one of the largest beaches on the west coast of Maui and is popular for its play structure, large grassy areas with plenty of shade, picnic areas, views, and proximity to amenities like the popular local farmers market. 

Honokawai Marketplace

A retail and business center that is technically in the town of Lahaina. There is an eclectic mix of restaurants, local shops, and even a jazz club. It is a great convenient place to find anything you need and a lot of what you want. You can duck into the urgent care for immediate medical needs or pop into the day spa for some much-needed relaxation. 

Farmers Market Maui

There are a handful of amazing farmers' markets located all over Maui, but this is perhaps the most popular. The market is family owned and operated with roots in the very first farmers market established on Maui. Wayne Nishiki helped to pioneer the culture of farmers' markets on Maui bringing small roadside produce stands that moved locations. There are a few different locations of this family-owned market today. The Honokawai location has been in operation since 2005. This is a natural food store popular for the freshest products available daily and an original farmer's market outside in the parking lot three times a week.

Maui Brewing Company

One of the most popular local companies in Maui. There are a few different restaurant locations around the island and the state, but the actual brewery is located in west Maui. You can take a brewery tour or enjoy the amazing restaurant. 

Homes in Honokawai

Honokawai offers a nice mix of residential properties in a quiet portion of Maui that come at a more affordable price point as compared to more populated areas close to the water on the island. This small portion of west Maui offers both low-rise condo homes, homes in traditional neighborhoods, and large properties with plenty of land for the ultimate quiet hidden gem island dream homes.
