Molokai Maui Hawaii

Molokai is Hawaii's fifth largest island and is considered one of three islands that make up Maui, officially known as Maui Nui. Molokai is smaller in land mass as compared to other islands in Hawaii. It is 38 miles long and only 10 miles across at the widest spot. Quiet Beaches

Molokai is home to miles of sandy beaches and one of Hawaii's longest white sand beaches, Papohaku Beach Park. The beaches of Molokai are very quiet and often you may feel you are the only one out on the beach. Make sure to use caution as there are no lifeguards. It is important to make sure you are aware of the current weather and surf conditions before enjoying the most beautiful and quiet of Hawaii's beaches. Kalaupapa National Historical Park

This is a beautiful natural preserve with a very interesting history. It is remembered as a site with roots from 1866. Its earliest memories are of a place where 8000 people were imprisoned by King Kamehameha V because of a breakout of Hansen's Disease which today is more commonly known as leprosy. 

Anyone with leprosy on the island at the time was banished to this area of Molokai to pass away isolated from those in good health. Today it is a beautiful area of preserved natural land where you can learn about the history and enjoy undeveloped Hawaii. 

Kapuaiwa Coconut Grove

Named after King Kamehameha V whose name was Lot Kapuaiwa. It is a 10-acre beachfront grove of coconut trees that were planted in the 1860s. There is one tree planted for each warrior in the royal family. It is considered sacred land. Over half of the grove has been replanted since the original trees as they only live for 60 to 80 years, but some of the original trees are still standing today. 

Halawa Valley

One of the most popular and beautiful areas to hike in Hawaii. You can learn from hiking guides about the history of the very people that were born and raised on the land. It is a cultural experience you will never forget that is great for the entire family.
